Daily Gaza vigils from 7 Jan 2009

January 4th, 2009 No comments

From next Wednesday January 7th until the end of the war on Gaza, Durham Palestine Solidarity Campaign will begin a daily peace vigil from 1pm to 2pm in Durham Market Place.

The vigil is supported by members of many different groups in Durham e.g. Peace Action Durham, Amnesty International, churches and mosques and builds on the well-attended demonstration for peace that took place last Saturday in Durham in front of the Cathedral.

This is an opportunity for the people of Durham to protest peacefully against the atrocities being inflicted on Palestine civilians – many of whom are children – by the Israeli armed forces.
